Need some software to help you navigate the scheduling of all of this?
Once you get started adding donors and recipients, you can use our logistics software to help you maintain a schedule and support your volunteers running shifts.
The Food Rescue Robot was created by our co-founder Caleb Phillips in 2012 and exists to automate many of the tasks required to run a food rescue organization driven by volunteers. It is currently used by 18 other cities across the country, and once rebuilt, will be cooperatively owned by all users.
This project is community-driven, so everyone involved gets a say in deciding how to add features and how to develop it.
Some of the current features include:
- Tracking and maintaining schedule and volunteers
- Recording data from pick ups
- Giving volunteers autonomy to take shifts and know how to do shifts
- Generating receipts for donors
- Volunteer absence scheduling
